Engineering
The Engineering Department develops and implements capital budgets and manages public works for the Port. As a cost saving strategy, the Port formed an internal construction crew to perform small capital projects in-house. This innovative team includes a landscape specialist who also maintains properties at Swantown Marina & Boatworks and Port Plaza. Public Works is also responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the groundwater pump and treat system and other remediation activities at the Cascade Pole site.
