Harbor Patrol

Serving Olympia Harbor and Budd Inlet
Providing safety education, search & rescue and harbor security for the Port of Olympia.
Formed in 1970, the Olympia Harbor Patrol now operates under Swantown Marina as a service of the Port of Olympia. OHP personnel are community volunteers who serve without compensation. Harbor Patrol Officers and Crew-members annually account for more than 800 hours of on-the-water patrol and 750 hours of training.

Harbor Patrol volunteers help protect the security and safety of the Marine Terminal, Swantown Marina & Boatworks, Port customers and citizens who are enjoying the waterfront. They also promote safety with boater education, special event patrols and ship escorts.

Along with Port staff, the volunteers provide emergency response including search and rescue assists, aid to distressed vessels, emergency medical services and fire responses.

The Port of Olympia is proud to have the Olympia Harbor Patrol on our team!
