The Port is pleased to announce the 2015 Port of Olympia Boatswap & Chowder Challenge at Swantown Marina. The event will be held Saturday, June 20 from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm at the Swantown Marina. This event draws boaters and clam chowder enthusiasts from miles around for a day of fun on Olympia's waterfront on East Bay!
The Boatswap & Chowder Challenge is a special community festival that features a clam chowder cook-off among local area restaurants and caterers, a boat and gear swap for boaters, plus music and family entertainment all day! The event returned in 2013 with great success. In years past, the event drew over 1,200 chowder tasters, over 100 entrepreneurs and over 3,500 attendees.
The event will open at 11:00 am, with chowder tasting beginning at 1:00 pm and ending at 2:30 pm. Admission to the event is free, but there is a cost of $5.00 per person to participate in the chowder tasting. Awards for the best tasting chowders will begin at 3:30 pm.
Watch for additional information to be added as the event planning moves forward.
